JDIC Financial Game

The Game is intended to encourage students to understand not only Deposit Insurance information, but more so to gain a broad understanding of the financial system and how it works; and the importance of managing money and making better financial decisions.
This initiative supports the Corporation’s commitment and thrust towards the development of a comprehensive financial literacy programme and for expanding financial inclusion.
The Game targets Secondary School students, grades 7 to 13, and takes them through different life stages and situations in which they need to apply their financial knowledge and skills.
The Game incorporates elements of Jamaican culture, including ‘real life scenarios’ depicting the general conduct of business/financial activities and the correct use of financial terms/jargons.
The Game is interactive (voice and/or pop-up messages) to capture the students’ attention and imagination and test their knowledge and it has various levels of difficulty and prompts players to move to the next level with a scoring system.
